In my own mind I don't see the harm in using snap caps during dry fire practice. Over and over the importance of spending hours dry firing is emphasized. As such, this will be an investment in the $1900 - $2500 range. ![]() I've been squirreling away literally my pocket change for too many months to purchase not just any 1911 but one I will grow into and own for life I'm looking at Baer, Brown, or if things loosen up in the AR world a Rock River. ![]() However, I tend to err on the side of caution to a semi-obsessive level. From everything I've read in how-to-shoot handbooks, and on this forum as well as others, and from talking with my intro instructor and my friendly gun shop manager (who never wants to sell you anything you do not need), I understand that dry firing will absolutely positively unequivocally not harm the 1911. ![]()
